Lew Simon just called to tell me that Christian Bastien, MTA Project Coordinator, has agreed to come to a meeting on Thursday January 19 at 7:30 PM to hear from advocates of the Rockaway line. The meeting would be sponsored by our transit group and  the Good Government Regular Democratic Club. Any other groups to invite? All members of the public are invited. We expect to get good exposure in the WAVE. The location is 112-20 Beach Channel Drive, Rockaway Park 11691. There should be the usual bagels, cream cheese and coffee.

I spoke to Lew Simon and he said there will be a sign in sheet and people will be asked at the door if they would like to make a suggested one dollar or two dollar donation at the door.

Directions to the meeting by public transportation:
Take the "A" train to the Broad Channel Station and switch to the Rockaway Park Shuttle train. Take the Shuttle train to the Beach 116th Street Station. Walk north along Beach 116th Street to Beach Channel Drive. Walk west along Beach Channel Drive to 112-20 Beach Channel Drive and cross over to the north side of the street (opposite the Waldbaum’s parking lot).
