Agenda for June 27, 2005 meeting:

  1. Joseph Tiraco will speak about a new and better way for our group to organize our e-mail communications called the public wiki and the Tiki program.   SIC wiki is the layman's term, and Tiki is the proper noun or program name.  The technical descriptive acronym is "CMS" or Content Management System. A wiki is the modern concept (perhaps 2 yrs old) of GroupWare, derived from the ancient (perhaps 8year old) "Novel NetWare" which was a program to expedite or organize email communications for teams working towards a common goal (i.e., sales, advertising, product design, etc.)  You should notice this old NetWare technique because it is essentially how you are presently trying to administer this group - that is, by email communications.  Tiki is light years ahead of common email shuffling.

  1. Discussion of demolition going on at Woodhaven Junction Station.

  1. Subcommittee name change to better describe the group’s efforts to restore the LIRR Rockaway Cutoff.

  1. Update on Lower Manhattan East River Tunnel Proposal.
